Any and every blog needs to showcase some basic, foundational information about the blog, authors, content etc. These pages are all pretty standard but they’re also a great way to have some fun and let your readers get to know you. It’s a great place for people to get to know you, your business, and how you work. You might not think much about it, but your 'About Page' can quickly become one of the most popular pages on your blog. Think about it... someone’s stumbled across a post you wrote, they liked what they read, and they want to know just who this person is, what is he trying to inform, why and on what he is working etc.
2. Writing about your blog or yourself isn’t that easy. So let’s start with a few basic questions that every great blog 'About Page' should answer:

5. I find it crazy that we might spend days or even months working on a piece of content like a blog post, but we don't give our "About Me" pages the 'time and effort' they deserve. Tip # 1 - Grab the Attention of You Audience
7. There's no one way to go about this, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve that might help you spice up your About page. One of the best and easiest methods is to open your 'About Me' with punchy statement that perfectly captures what your attitude and style - the things that make you, well - you!

8. Great strategy is to include pictures and videos. Photos add a nice personable touch, while prescriptive videos describing your process and/or snapshots behind the curtain of how a product is, made go a long way towards consolidating reader trust. Don't underestimate these humanizing touches. People want to know that there’s a human running the site and that the person behind the blog is someone worth paying attention to.
Tip # 2 - Keep Your Scope Narrow and Relevant
9. Your About me page is not your autobiography. And, you may be surprised to hear this, but it might also not be the place to share your company's long winded professional history. Highlight these points as your readers want to hear them! And, of course, knowing your audience is key to any piece of content you publish.
Tip # 3 - Paint an Honest Picture of Yourself.

10. A short bio and a nice photograph help your readers connect with the wizard behind the curtain and get a good look at the real you but it’s got to be honest. I usually do this by opening up about my passions and you should too because you want to communicate to people that your about page isn’t just who you are and what you do but why you do it. This is a great place to share your values with your friends by elaborating a little on what you believe and why you launched your website in the first place. One popular way of doing this is telling a story your audience can see themselves in. Also, you'd think this goes without saying, but be yourself. Getting Google traffic is great. But there's nothing wrong with including some organic SEO phrases that tie it naturally. But all the SEO in the world won't help you if you sound like a robot.
Tip # 4- Leverage Social Proof
11. Nothing boosts your credibility like a good testimonial or two and I know this might feel like bragging but pl trust - it makes a definite difference. Obviously trust and winning testimonials are earned over time, though. Don't fake these credentials if you don't already have them - you may wind up harming your reputation instead of helping it.
Tip # 5 -' About Me' - It's Really About Them

I’ve saved the most important point for last, because if you take anything from this post, I hope it's this: your content - even your 'About Me' should build empathy with your customer/ clients/ friends. It sounds nuts, but your customers are looking to see themselves in your mission statement. They want to understand what kind of problems you solve and how they fit into the solutions you offer. Your readers aren't stumbling onto your site blindly. They're coming to you with pain points that you can solve.

13. The last, and final trick is to wrap all of these elements up into a simple, minimalist About page - Your readers don't want to wade through a wall of text just to learn your mission statement. There's no one strategy but when I write my 'About Me' pages, I like to address three simple questions:

14. 'About Me' page needs to tell the readers as to who I am, and why that matters. When people see that I have years of experience, or that I juggle numerous blogs and hundreds of thousands of visitors, it translates into more credibility with my readers, and thus more stock in my advice.
What ?
15. It's too important that my 'About Me' page tells my readers exactly what I'm about. This is my Call to Action - offering to help my readers break into the blogosphere and start writing like a pro.
Why ?
I want my readers to understand my stake in this process, and understand as to why i am writing.
Ques 1. What Value are You Creating for Your Readers?
3. It might be called an 'About Page' but you don’t want to make the mistake of only talking about yourself. Yes, you’ll get to talk about who you are, but your 'About Page' should be just as much about your readers and the value you’re creating for them. This helps readers get grounded and know that they’re in the right place.

Ques 2. Who is Your Blog For?
4. Your value statement will touch on who your ideal reader is, but you want to make sure when the right person gets to your blog they know they’re in the right place. This is like a secret handshake for your blog. Nail it and you’ll make every single person feel like they’re where they belong.
5. There’s a couple approaches you can take:
a. Tell them who the blog is for;
b. Show proof that you’re part of their community;
6. Personally, if you have the resources I would go for the second option. Not only does this tell readers who you are and if they’re in the right place. But it also gives you a chance to show social proof that other people have recognized you as a thought leader. Of course, you might not have this right away. So it’s perfectly fine to just go with the first option.
How to Start a Blog 'About Page' Credibility
7. The more you know your ideal reader, the better your blog will serve that person. Just like when you were picking your blog niche, if you try to write for everyone, you’ll end up writing for no one.
Ques 3. Why Should They Listen to You?
8. If you have done a good job in the first few sections, your reader should have a pretty good idea of who you are and be able to decide whether or not they want to keep reading you. However, at this point, it doesn’t hurt to talk a bit more about yourself and sell them on why you’re the blog they should follow.

14. I know that if someone is made it to my blog About page, they probably just met me that means I don’t want to ask anything too taxing like signing up for a newsletter or following me on social media. Instead, I want them to get to know me better. So they can do that on their own.
15. That is why my Call to Act (CTA) is simply to read more of "My Blog Post".
16. I know that the value I’m creating will hopefully get them to stick around but at this point, I still need to earn their attention. Whatever you choose is up to you but do not forget to think about the context of the person you are talking to.
How to Write a "Contact Page" for Your Blog
17. Your Contact page can be as simple as having your email and social media accounts listed on a page. Or, if you would rather not have your personal email out there for anyone to find, you can include a contact form. If you’re on WordPress, one of the best ways to do this is to use a plugin like WP Forms that lets you create custom contact forms just by dragging and dropping elements. When you are making your blog Contact page, it's not enough to just put up the form. You need to think about why someone would want to get in touch with you. Can you answer basic questions upfront with an FAQ on your contact page? If you are selling your services, can you tell people basic requirements so you don’t waste each other’s time?
18. What is so great about this is that I get mostly business related messages because of this. For everything blog and content related, I try to get people to stick to comments and social media. This way, comments are public and other readers can learn from them and engage. Think about what types of communication you want your readers to use and for what. You can use your 'Contact Page' to set those expectations right away. At the last, you may add up some of your good work so as to help the readers to know more about you - like the few ones I have added with links.
