VERY IMPORTANT SECURITY CODES FOR NOKIA AND NOKIA SETUP GUIDE FOR EPOCCAM

General

 
1. If you forget the security code or never created one, follow these steps:

 
Important: The Nokia® 2760 / 3555 / 5310 / 5610 / 6263 / 6301 / 7510 phones do not have a default Security Code preset. If performing a function that requires the security code, you must create one. When setting up the security code, it is highly recommended that it be set to 12345. This allows you to have the 'default' Nokia security code programmed in the phone. If you prefer another security code, please save it for later use.

Never Created / Do not Know Security  Code



2. Review the following information:

 

a. The default security code is 12345 for most Nokia  phones.

b. If you enter an incorrect security code five times in succession, the  phone ignores further entries of the code.

c. Wait for five minutes and enter the code again.

d. Note that there is no approved Master Security Code generator available  at this time from Nokia.

e. On the main screen type:

 

*#06# for checking the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity).

*#7780# reset to factory settings.

*#67705646# This will clear the LCD display(operator logo).

*#0000# To view software version.

*#2820# Bluetooth device address.

*#746025625# Sim clock allowed status.

*#62209526# - Display the MAC address of the WLAN adapter. This is available only in the newer devices that supports WLAN like N80

#pw+1234567890+1# Shows if sim have restrictions.

*#92702689# - takes you to a secret menu where you may find some of the information below:

3. As follows:

 

a. Displays Serial Number.

b. Displays the Month and Year of Manufacture

c. Displays (if there) the date where the phone was purchased (MMYY)

d. Displays the date of the last repair - if found (0000)

e. Shows life timer of phone (time passes since last start)

 

*#3370# - Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR) activation. Increase signal strength, better signal reception. It also help if u want to use GPRS and the service is not responding or too slow. Phone battery will drain faster though.

*#3370* - (EFR) deactivation. Phone will automatically restart. Increase battery life by 30% because phone receives less signal from network.

*#4720# - Half Rate Codec activation.

*#4720* - Half Rate Codec deactivation. The phone will automatically restart

 

4. If you forgot wallet code for Nokia S60 phone, use this code reset: *#7370925538#

 

5. Note, your data in the wallet will be erased. Phone will ask you the lock code. Default lock code is: 12345

 

Press *#3925538# to delete the contents and code of wallet.

*#7328748263373738# resets security code.

6. Unlock service provider: Insert sim, turn phone on and press vol up(arrow keys) for 3 seconds, should say pin code. Press C,then press * message should flash, press * again and 04*pin*pin*pin#

 
7. Change closed caller group (settings >security settings>user groups) to 00000 and ure phone will sound the message tone when you are near a radar speed trap. Setting it to 500 will cause your phone 2 set off security alarms at shop exits, gr8 for practical jokes! (works with some of the Nokia phones.)

 
8. Press and hold "0" on the main screen to open wap browser.

 



9. As Follows:

 

*3370# This Nokia code activates Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR) - Your Nokia cell phone uses the best sound quality but talk time is reduced my approx. 5%

#3370# Deactivate Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR)

*#4720# Activate Half Rate Codec - Your phone uses a lower quality sound but you should gain approx 30% more Talk Time

*#4720# With this Nokia code you can deactivate the Half Rate Codec

*#0000# Displays your phones software version, 1st Line : Software Version, 2nd Line : Software Release Date, 3rd Line : Compression Type

*#9999# Phones software version if *#0000# does not work

*#06# For checking the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI Number)

#pw+1234567890+1# Provider Lock Status. (use the "*" button to obtain the "p,w" and "+" symbols)

#pw+1234567890+2# Network Lock Status. (use the "*" button to obtain the "p,w" and "+" symbols)

#pw+1234567890+3# Country Lock Status. (use the "*" button to obtain the "p,w" and "+" symbols)

#pw+1234567890+4# SIM Card Lock Status. (use the "*" button to obtain the "p,w" and "+" symbols)

*#147# This lets you know who called you last (Only vodafone)

*#1471# Last call (Only vodafone)

*#21# This phone code allows you to check the number that "All Calls" are diverted to

*#2640# Displays phone security code in use

*#30# Lets you see the private number

*#43# Allows you to check the "Call Waiting" status of your cell phone.

*#61# Allows you to check the number that "On No Reply" calls are diverted to

*#62# Allows you to check the number that "Divert If Unreachable (no service)" calls are diverted to

*#67# Allows you to check the number that "On Busy Calls" are diverted to

*#67705646# Phone code that removes operator logo on 3310 & 3330

*#73# Reset phone timers and game scores

*#746025625# Displays the SIM Clock status, if your phone supports this power saving feature "SIM Clock Stop Allowed", it means you will get the best standby time possible

*#7760# Manufactures code

*#7780# Restore factory settings

*#8110# Software version for the nokia 8110

*#92702689# Displays - 1.Serial Number, 2.Date Made, 3.Purchase Date, 4.Date of last repair (0000 for no repairs), 5.Transfer User Data. To exit this mode you need to switch your phone off then on again

*#94870345123456789# Deactivate the PWM-Mem

**21*number# Turn on "All Calls" diverting to the phone number entered

**61*number# Turn on "No Reply" diverting to the phone number entered

**67*number# Turn on "On Busy" diverting to the phone number entered

13. When EpocCam Lite or EpocCam Pro mobile phone application is started, screen looks as follows.

USB SET UP

 

14. As follows:

 

a) Install Nokia Ovi Suite from Nokia website.

b) Install EpocCam Symbian application from Nokia Ovi Store.

c) Install EpocCam Windows drivers from here. The same drivers work for both Lite and Pro versions. Before installing drivers please shut down all applications that use webcam (Skype, Windows Live Messenger, etc), otherwise they may get crash during installation.

d) Connect USB cable between your phone and PC.

e) On phone choose connection mode 'PC Suite' if asked.

f) Start EpocCam application on your phone.

g) Start EpocCam Viewer on your PC and click play button. This application can be started from Start Menu - Programs - Kinoni - EpocCam Viewer.

h) You should see the video from phone. If you cannot see the video check troubleshooting section.

 
WIFI SET UP

 

15. How to setup wifi:

 

a) Setup your wireless network. Both your PC and Nokia phone must be connected to same WiFi network. Exact setup details depend on your Windows version and phone model, please check Microsoft and Nokia support how to connect to wireless network if needed.

b) Install EpocCam Pro Symbian application from Nokia Ovi Store. EpocCam Lite does not support WiFi connection.

c) Install EpocCam Windows drivers from here. The same drivers work for both Lite and Pro versions. Before installing drivers please shut down all applications that use webcam (Skype, Windows Live Messenger, etc), otherwise they may crash during installation.

d) Start EpocCam Viewer on your PC and click play button. This application can be started from Start Menu - Programs - Kinoni - EpocCam Viewer.

e) EpocCam viewer displays available connection methods on screen. For example on image below you can see that USB connection is supported and one network IP address, 10.23.0.112. If PC displays multiple IP addresses any of them should work.

 






f) Start EpocCam Pro application on your phone.

g) When EpocCam prompts for server IP address, enter the address shown on PC screen. On the above example that would be 10.23.0.112.

h) After entering IP address, WiFi network selection dialogue is displayed. Select the same WiFi network PC is connected to.

i) You should see the video from phone. If you cannot see the video check troubleshooting section.

 
UNINSTALLATION

 

16. Use Windows control panel or uninst.exe on EpocCam installation folder. Before uninstallation make sure all the applications using EpocCam (Skype, MSN Live Messenger etc) are closed, otherwise you may need to restart the computer.

 
TROUBLESHOOTING

 

17. If you experience problems using EpocCam, this section will guide you through typical issues.

 

GENERAL

 

18. If EpocCam is not working as expected always check these first.

 

a) Open Windows Task Manager services tab to make sure both Bonjour-service and Kinoni Svc are running. If not, start them by right clicking and choose "Start Service". If you cannot see Bonjour-service or KinoniSvc, , please install required Windows drivers from kinoni.com.



 



 

 
EPOCCAM IS NOT SHOWN AS WEBCAM IN SKYPE / WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER / APPLICATION XYZ

 

19. As follows:

 

a) After installing EpocCam drivers you have to restart all webcam-enabled applications before EpocCam is visible to them. Alternatively you can reboot computer.

b) Some applications do not display 'EpocCam' as a webcam, but instead they display only 'Kinoni Video Source'. In that case you should use 'Kinoni Video Source', it's functionality is identical to 'EpocCam' camera.

c) YouTube channel of Kinoni shows how to set up EpocCam with some popular applications.

 
USB CONNECTION DOES NOT WORK

 

20. What to do if USB connection do not work:

 

a) Open Nokia Ovi Suite to ensure phone is connected as shown below. If not, make sure cable is connected and you have chose "Ovi Suite" mode on phone settings. If phone is not shown on Ovi Suite, reconnect the USB-cable. If the problem persists, you can try reinstalling Ovi Suite.

 

 



 

b) Open Windows device manager to ensure phone is connected as shown below. If phone is not shown here or there is an exclamation mark next to it try reconnecting the USB-cable. If the problem persists, you can try reinstalling Ovi Suite.

 



 
WIFI CONNECTION DOES NOT WORK

 

21. What to do if WIFI connection do not work:

 

a) Make sure you are using EpocCam Pro version 1.5 or later. EpocCam Lite does not support WiFi connectivity.

b) Check you firewall settings. Your firewall application can block the traffic between PC and phone. If you use Windows firewall EpocCam Windows installer will automatically configure it to allow traffic. If you are using third party firewall software like Norton or F-Secure you need to configure them to allow Bonjour-service traffic on UDP port 5353. Also allow 'KinoniSvc' to accept incoming connections to TCP port 5055.

 



 



VIDEO QUALITY IS BAD USING WIFI CONNECTION

 



22. What to do if video quality is bad:

 

a) EpocCam uses up to 3 megabits per second bandwidth while streaming video over WiFi connection. Make sure your wireless network has enough available bandwidth.

b) Disable Bluetooth on both mobile phone and PC. Bluetooth devices can interfere with WiFi connections.

c) Usable WiFi range is about 10 meters while using EpocCam. Try to keep mobile phone and PC as close to each other as possible.

 
VIDEO PLAYBACK IS SLOW OR BREAKS UP ON PC

 

23. What to do if video playback is slow or breaks up on PC:

 

a) Do you see a hourglass on top of video as shown below? If yes, it means your computer is unable to process the video in real-time. As a solution try to use lower video resolution, for example switch from 720p HD to VGA. Also make sure you are not running any other CPU-hungry application at the same time. For 720p HD video a dual-core CPU is recommended.

 



 

b) If you do not see the hourglass, bad video quality is probably caused by WiFi connection. Look at the WiFi connection checklist above.

c) Make sure only one application is using EpocCam at a time. Remember to exit EpocCam Viewer before using EpocCam with other applications.
